How to choose a good office plant

Evaluate your lighting desk. Obviously, a plant that needs full sun is not luck into a copy room with no windows, but to know where to put plants in your office and determine how the natural sunlight they will receive, on average. However, if you have doubts, low light (shade loving) plants will do well in most office settings (such as on top of the cabinet in the middle of the floor near windows). Some plants will do well when placed near the fluorescent lamps in offices. If you have access to non-tinted window to the south, you have more flexibility in plant selection.

Decide how much space is designated for the plant. Get an idea of the availability of both the floor or against the vertical space and place.

Estimate how much care you can dedicate to the factory. Some plants need more care than others, and sometimes it can be difficult to find time in the workday to water, or to cut. Be honest with yourself in the assessment of attention, which can give you and your colleagues the plant (s).

Determine the purpose of your plants. Different plants can do different things for you. If you want to illuminate a particular area, you probably want a flowering plant or a colorful, colorful leaves. If you are looking to drive off the carbon dioxide - or add as much oxygen - such as possible, you should look for a plant with green leaf area. Some plants, such as the Areca palm, Kentia palm or Dracaena 'Janet Craig' are exceptionally effective in removing the air for chemicals found to be common in offices [1].

Set your budget works. Although some plants can be very expensive individually, the cleanest plants that you plan the most important part of your budget. Calculate how much you want to spend, buying the plants. Also determine how much effort you put in their long-term.

You can also search for plants over the Internet to determine who fit your needs. Remember to think long term (of course, that little umbrella tree (Schefflera arboricola) will now be up on your desk, but what happens when an adult?).

Some plants (like many orchids and bonsai) have given very specific humidity, temperature and needs. If this is your first office plant, try something easier (like philodendron or pothos).

Buy your plants. You can at your local garden store or buy Farmers Market, or you can do your shopping on the Internet. Whatever you choose, you ensure a healthy-looking plants, free of mold, are rotting and insects. It's easier to do when you see the plants, of course, but many online stores offer a warranty to cover the risk. If you have the budget, you can try a company plant, office.
