In our cabin on the terrible task we need to breathe recycled air. Could we please get advice on the best plants to freshen things a little? They had to be cheap and easy to maintain.

Thank you for your question, and I express my sympathy for your oxygen supply at risk working conditions!

Fortunately, this is an area of some interest of researchers. Margaret Burchett, Ronald Wood, Ralph Orwell and his colleagues at the plant and the environmental quality of the group at the University of Technology Sydney, as measured, for example, the effectiveness of plants to remove VOCs from the air in his office (volatile organic compounds that emitted by certain types of plastic chairs, furniture and office equipment). They found that plants about 70% of emissions of volatile organic compounds at concentrations above 100 ppb. Both the metabolism of plants and soil microorganisms are involved in the removal of VOCs in the air. The three works in the study will be used all common houseplants: forsteriana Howea (Kentia palm), Spathiphyllum wallisii var Petite (Peace Lily) and Dracaena Janet Craig deremensis var. In order for these plants at least three and probably many others would be good to look out for when you remove at least some of the chemicals from the air in your workplace.
